When his secret bride is executed for assaulting an English soldier who tried to rape her, William Wallace begins a revolt against King Edward I of creator: Randall Wallace USA Tomatometers: 8,4 / 10 Genre: War. Braveheart was one of the first DVDs we rented. I had heard a recording of a speech William Wallace makes in the movie which I found very stirring. I had great hopes for the movie because it won so many Oscars and I love great epic films.
There is no doubt that the fight sequences are spectacular and the opening sequence of a William as a young boy were quite moving. I did like the Noble character who struggled with whether to help the William or to be true to his noble heritage.
As the movie wore on I tired of the battle sequences and started not to care whether the "good guys" were going to win or not. The level of gore may have been authentic to the torture methods of the day, but it just wasn't my cup of tea.
It wasn't a terrible movie, but it didn't meet my expectations of a movie that won multiple oscars.

Makes me tear up thinking about this country's internal strife on freedom. Abusive laws that jail people for stupid laws that persecute men and consulting young adults and jail children just for figuring out what they are. Its so sad to persecute other people just because you happen to be old or fat or people take up torches and pitchforks and make laws and imprison out of jealousy. Because they cant get love. They force young teens to go to college, NOT fall in love with an older man to raise children, so they jail the man, destroy him, murder him. Is this what feminism has become? An evil? I say absolutely yes. Yes, it has.

Those who criticize the movie for its historical inaccuracies have some good and accurate points. Therefore, it is tough to judge any historical fact at this time (with a truly deciding what is correct. especially when they were the enemies of the English.
